  • Occurs when it rains and the water level reading of the Klang river at the Tun Perak Hydrological Station reaches 28.00m even though the flow rate at the confluence of Sungai Ampang and Sungai Klang is less than 70m³/s
  • Occurs when it rains and the flow rate at the L4 Hydrological Station located at the confluence of Sg. Klang with Sg. Ampang recorded readings between 70 m³/s to 150m³/s.
  • Excess flood water will be channeled into the SMART System reservoir and water will only flow in the lower drain of the tunnel. Sg. Klang to Kuala Lumpur City Center is controlled at 50m³/s.
  • The traffic tunnel is still open for traffic lanes.
  • Occurs when heavy rains fall and the SMART System Flood Forecasting Model predicts flow rates in L4 exceeding 150m³/s. Sg. Klang to Kuala Lumpur City Center is controlled at 10m³/s only.
  • The tunnel section of the traffic lane will be cleared of all vehicles.
  • If heavy rains fall soon or for some other technical reason, flood water will not be channeled into the tunnels of the traffic lane.
  • The tunnel section of the traffic lane will reopen for traffic lanes after between two and eight hours of closure.
  • Occurs after between one and two hours of the Mode 3 warning being issued and if heavy rain continues.
  • The tunnel section of the traffic lane will be used for flood routes and will reopen after four days of closure.
